Santa Hustle Galveston Event Information

Be a part of one of the largest growing races as thousands of Santas hit the streets of Galveston at the Fifth Annual Santa Hustle 5k & Half Marathon on December 18, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.

5K START: 8:15 a.m.

Every participant will receive a Santa hat, beard, and a lightweight performance hoodie to wear while running. NEW for 2016! All finishers, 5K and Half Marathon, will receive a finisher medal! Come on out to experience the outrageous holiday decorations, festive music, and cookie and candy stations on the course!

Race Charity

Santa Hustle’s National Charity is Toys for Tots! All toys donated go to children in need, so on event day please bring new toys to make a children’s Christmas! Boxes will be by the information booth on December 18.

The Official 2016 Santa Hustle Galveston Charity is Galveston County Food Bank. 

The Galveston County Food Bank is aiming to make an even larger impact on hunger and nutritional education in Galveston County. We are working diligently on developing partners so collectively we can not only eradicate hunger in the county but improve access to nutritious food sources for the economically disadvantaged. We are the only non profit organization in Galveston County that operates a centralized food distribution system providing product to other charitable organizations. It is our goal to strengthen our lead in meeting the needs of those facing food insecurity in Galveston County by providing nutritional food through as many avenues needed to reach those struggling with hunger. Race Packet Pick-Up

Packet Pick-Up will be available on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 10am – 7pm at the San Luis. Click here for a packet pick-up location and parking map.

Race day packet pick-up WILL BE AVAILABLE on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the GALVESTON YACHT BASIN from 6:30 a.m.-7:45 a.m. PPU will close exactly at 7:45 a.m. so Santa says to come early and be prepared for long lines!

Timing and Bibs

The Santa Hustle 5k and Half Marathon is an officially timed event using the disposable B-Tag timing system. Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain adhered for the duration of the event. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is:

  • Clearly visible on the front of the torso
  • Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
  • Pinned in all four corners
  • Not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)

There will be timing clocks at each mile marker along the course and the start and finish lines. Results will be posted on-site, as soon as possible following the event and official results will be posted on our website within 24 hours.

The top three male & female finishers in each age group for the 5K and Half Marathon will receive a customized Santa Hustle medal. The top three overall male and female finishers will receive a Santa Hustle personalized award. Age groups are as follows: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

There will be no on site awards ceremony. All awards will be mailed out after the New Year.

All Finishers will receive either this awesome half marathon or 5K finisher medal! Medals designed by the Runolution

Awards will be handed out for the following categories:

  • Best Group Santa Costumes
  • Best Individual Santa Costume
Gear Check

Gear Check will be available for all participants at the race starting at 7:00 AM. Please use the provided tear off on your race bib and zip tie to use when you check your personal items. Any gear not picked up by 1:00 PM on race day will be transported to our main office in Palatine, IL. Items not claimed within 30 days will be donated to a local charity.

Strollers, Walkers, and Dogs

Strollers and walkers are allowed. Dogs are NOT allowed. Walkers need to start behind all the runners.

Refunds / Exchanges

Since Santa Claus has many upfront costs, we have a strict and uniform policy of no refunds or exchanges, no person-to-person transfer, or no deferrals to a future year. We do understand that plans change, injuries happen, and various holiday festivities and situations arise, but, we feel it is most fair to apply a uniform policy to all, instead of a subjective line of who should receive a refund and who doesn’t.  All purchases and sales are 100% final, no exceptions. The event will take place rain or shine and refunds will not be issued based on weather conditions. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
