Santa Hustle Indy 5k & Half Marathon

**ATTENTION SANTA HUSTLE INDY PARTICIPANTS**

Santa Hustle Indy Participants,

We have been monitoring the weather and have been in close communication with our Sports Medicine Medical Director as well as the Police and the City of Indianapolis. The National Weather Advisory is calling for extreme cold temperatures on Sunday morning. The forecast is currently projecting for a high of 1 degree with early am snow flurries and winds up to 18mph, which will drop the wind chill to below 0 degrees.

This presents a safety concern for all participants, especially the Half Marathon. With prolonged exposure to the elements this increases the risk of hypothermia, frostbite, with water becoming ice quickly causing the inability to provide water for participants along the 13.1 mile course.

For the safety of the half marathon participants, race volunteers, race staff, and all medical personnel, we are cancelling the Half Marathon and allowing all runners the ability to participate in the 5K.

For our Santa Hustle Half Marathon participants; here are a few things you can do:
1. Participate in the 5K on Sunday
-You can pick up your items at Packet Pickup and come on Sunday to run the 5K.

2. Transfer to the Santa Hustle Half Marathon Virtual Event
-This would allow you to pick up your packet and half marathon finisher medal at the JW Marriott on Saturday from 10am to 7pm. You can then complete your half marathon on your own time in better conditions.

3. Participate in both of the above (1 & 2)

Again, due to the extreme temperatures and for the safety of our participants, we will be cancelling the Half Marathon ONLY. ***The 5K WILL proceed as is with a 9:30 AM start time.***

Please Note: We are HIGHLY encouraging all participants to pick up their packets on Saturday at the JW Marriott from 10am-7pm. You can pick up packets for friends and family to make commutes easier.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come to Packet Pickup and talk to Bryan Ganek or Dani Snare at the Registration and Information table. They will be there to help facilitate any issues or concerns you may have.
