Every participant will receive a Santa hat, beard, and a lightweight performance hoodie to to wear while running. NEW for 2016! All finishers, 5K and Half Marathon, will receive a finisher medal! Come on out to experience the outrageous holiday decorations, festive music, and cookie and candy stations on the course!

Santa Hustle’s National Charity is Toys for Tots! All toys donated go to children in need, so on event day please bring new toys to make a children’s Christmas! Boxes will be by the information booth on November 20.
The Official 2016 Santa Hustle Rhode Island Charity is The Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Joseph’s Newport Conference.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Joseph’s Newport Conference provides basic needs assistance to those who are in need and suffering. Categories of aid include food, clothing, assistance with rent and utility payments, furniture, security deposits, medical bills, and more. Our founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, had a motto: “No act of charity is foreign to the Society.” We live this motto every day by visiting people in their homes and welcoming them into our soup kitchens, food pantries, and clothing closets. In the past year, our 51 volunteers provided nearly 12,000 hrs in service, our Soup Kitchen served 5,603 individuals, our Food Pantry provided groceries and persona items to 1,944 households. Also we provided coats and warm clothing to 390 individuals and provided emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities medical expenses etc. to 490 households. All of our funding is provided by financial donations, grants and in kind service of food and clothing.
Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up will be available on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the Atrium at the Newport Marriott (25 America’s Cup Ave, Newport, RI 02840)
Race day packet pick-up WILL BE AVAILABLE on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 5:30 a.m.-6:45 a.m. at Easton’s Beach. PPU will close exactly at 6:45 a.m. so Santa says to come early and be prepared for long lines!
The Newport Marriott is the official 2016 Host Hotel for the Santa Hustle Rhode Island. The Santa Hustle 5k and Half Marathon is an officially timed event using the disposable B-Tag timing system. Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain adhered for the duration of the event. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is:
There will be timing clocks at each mile marker along the course and the start and finish lines. Results will be posted on-site, as soon as possible following the event and official results will be posted on our website within 24 hours.
Drop Off Location = Easton’s Beach (175 Memorial Blvd.)
Shuttle Service will run continuously.
The last shuttle, leaving Easton’s Beach will be at 11:30 am
The top three male & female finishers in each age group for the 5K and Half Marathon will receive a customized Santa Hustle medal. The top three overall male and female finishers will receive a Santa Hustle personalized award. Age groups are as follows: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
There will be no on site awards ceremony. All awards will be mailed out after the New Year.

Awards will be handed out for the following categories:
Gear Check will be available for all participants at the race starting at 5:30 AM. Please use the provided tear off on your race bib and zip tie to use when you check your personal items. Any gear not picked up by 1:00 PM on race day will be transported to our main office in Palatine, IL. Items not claimed within 30 days will be donated to a local charity.
Strollers and walkers are allowed. Dogs are NOT allowed. Walkers need to start behind all the runners.

Since Santa Claus has many upfront costs, we have a strict and uniform policy of no refunds or exchanges, no person-to-person transfer, or no deferrals to a future year. We do understand that plans change, injuries happen, and various holiday festivities and situations arise, but, we feel it is most fair to apply a uniform policy to all, instead of a subjective line of who should receive a refund and who doesn’t. All purchases and sales are 100% final, no exceptions. The event will take place rain or shine and refunds will not be issued based on weather conditions.
